As a therapist, I'm passionate about helping children and teens feel seen, heard, and supported as they navigate life's challenges. Before becoming a clinical mental health counselor, I spent two and a half years working as a school counselor in public education. This experience gave me a deep understanding of how schools operate, what demands students face, and what supports can help them thrive both academically and emotionally.
I also have experience working with students in special education and children with disabilities. My goal is to create a safe, encouraging space where each child and teen can explore their thoughts and emotions freely.
My counseling approach is integrative-I meet each child where they are. While I draw from behavioral techniques and other evidence-based practices, I most often use child-centered and narrative therapy approaches to help clients connect with their strengths and make meaning of their experiences. I also love incorporating art and play therapy into sessions to help children express themselves in creative and developmentally appropriate ways.
I believe in supporting the whole family, not just the child. By working together with parents and caregivers, we can build tools and strategies that promote emotional growth, stronger relationships, and lasting change.
