Anna Miller Soper

Trust, respect and safety seems to be the most vital components to any relationship, especially the therapeutic relationship between client and therapist. My personal philosophies encourage my therapeutic approach of providing a warm and safe environment where you feel like you can be you and not have to “tend” to anyone or anything else in your life during that hour. Creating an atmosphere of no judgment, genuine curiosity and unlimited validation is of the utmost important to me in working with you as a client. I respect honesty and ensure to provide you the same so that you can move through the therapeutic process.

I hold dual Master degrees in Mental Health Counseling and Education, as well as a Bachelor’s in Human Services. I am a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate. I have worked as a Counselor since 2010 with substance abuse and mental health clients. I also worked in an inpatient crisis center for 5 years.

I enjoy working with adult individuals age 18+. I specialize in co-occurring disorders with mental health and substance abuse diagnoses. I have a passion to help people with substance abuse, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, life phase issues, and managing the day-in day-out stressors of life. I feel competent and confident in treating most presenting problems for clients due to my time in this field and the extensive experience I received working at a community mental health facility for 5 years.

I’ve learned what I do is a gift and I would not be able to do what I love without clients allowing me the opportunity to travel as their co-pilot on their journey in the therapeutic path. I love seeing growth and being part of positive change for my clients. It is one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had the privilege of being part of in my adult life. I thrive on the deep connection that therapy provides and helping clients get to where they want to be in their own lives.

When I am not spending time with my clients, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two daughters in our hometown of Mooresville. I am a huge animal advocate and love snuggling my furry co-therapist Betty, a standard poodle that loves to snuggle clients during session if they would like her to be present.
